Message draulics. if you take off the clutch master cylinder and look into where the input rods enter, you'll see that the input rod has a round end, and is not changing anything on the cylinder side. the pedal is moving up and down when you turn the input rod... this makes your range bigger/smaller to change the engagement point. if you look at how far the clutch pedal is from the 2 sensors up top as you're turning the input rod, you can see the pedal move slightly towards/away from the sensors.
